The Syria-Russian Offensive has stumbled at the beginning.

The reality of what is happening in Syria at the moment is buried under a mountain of propaganda

The best analysis that I have read is here.

It seems that the Syrian Army suffered heavy losses from the TOW rockets in Hama.

Syria regime hit by Hama “tank massacre”

The Syrian Arab Army appear to have made some territorial gains with the assistance of intense and massive Russian air support.

The Russian air support, especially from the helicopters, has been heroic, but the overall training and competence of the Syrian Army must be questioned at this point, while it is obviously too early to judge the results of this operation.

The United States, so utterly exposed and humiliated as the deluded terror supporting hypocrite of all time, is crowing over the death but it is not the deaths of specific individuals that determines the outcome of a war.

Hossein Hamadani is not the first senior Iranian military figure to die in the war and presumably will not be the last.

The West and Cohorts Plot, Sulk and Lie.

I am still struggling to get over the fact that the United States actually has the temerity to suggest that they have the right to send armed militants into a nation to overthrow the Government and if someone kills them in an attempt to assist the legal Government of the nation they are doing some wrong.

The sooner the United States comes to terms with the fact that it is simply another nation state with no entitlement whatsoever to decide the affairs of others, the better for everyone, them included.

There are no credible reports of Russian casualties at this time although that did not stop the increasingly laughable Syrian Observatory for Human Rights from claiming that three Russian helicopters have been downed and destroyed.

If any helicopters come down we can rest assured that there will be pictures. We will see little else for days.

Consortium News provides an excellent insight into the mood and thinking in Washington DC, they describe “official Washington” as being “blind with rage” at the Russian intervention into the Syrian war.

These are some of the videos that have emerged over the past day or so from the battlefields of Syria.

It is actually very sad to watch the rebel footage. When things are going ok, when there is hope and defiance they will all shout “Allahu Akbar” and it can become a little tiresome and repetitive, but I have now noticed that when something really bad happens, when they know that their allies or their buddies are being killed, they stop saying “Allahu akbar” and start saying, well, I guess they are saying ‘”Allah” but it is long and mournful and sounds more like “Yallah.”

This is one small way I have figured out to judge the effectiveness of the military operations. While the jihadists are shouting “Allahu akbar.” things are alright for them or there is at least hope but once they start saying “Allah” instead, This is a sign that they are taking casualties and losing morale.
