This incident may prove to have been a tragic accident or it could be far more serious. It is too early to speculate as to the cause of the crash but if reports that no distress signal was sent are true, and it is already established that the weather was favorable it is hard to imagine a mechanical fault or pilot failure resulting in the loss of the plane because under either scenario there is an overwhelming likelihood of a distress signal from the flight.
The dropping like a rock into the ocean for no apparent reason phenomenon has been seen in numerous air disaster in recent years from the Air France 447 disaster to the Air Asia 8501 calamity and many others.
State Department talking head John Kirby and many other current and former US officials have repeatedlywarned Russia of violent retribution for the defeat of the Western proxy forces in Syria on many occasions. If foul play has led to the demise of this aircraft those words may well come to haunt them and the world.
Updated- December 28th.
There were no survivors of the TU154 Black Sea crash. The flight voice and data recorders have been recovered and sources well connected with the Russia government claim that these and other data overwhelmingly point to pilot and/or mechanical error as the cause of the tragedy,
“According to a source close to investigation speaking to Interfax, initial readings from the black box appear to confirm the pilot error story. “The preliminary analysis of the flight recorder is complete,” said the unnamed source.
“It leads us to conclude that that the version of the catastrophe connected to mistakes made by the pilot of the aircraft, is the main version.”

Iran Signals Implicit Support for Assad Departure.
In a break from their long-held position, it appears that Iran is open to a deal that would see the Syrian President Bashar al Assad leave Syria as part of a formula to end the five-year Syrian war with a death toll now estimated at 400,000.
This information emerged in a Press TV story posted on their you tube channel yesterday.
“Syria president rejected offer for resettlement in Iran”
This story, which must be taken seriously given the source, indicates that Iran is now willing to countenance Assad’s departure, after all, Iran could not have offered Assad refuge if they disagreed with his leaving.
As recently as April 10th senior Iranian spokesmen have stated that there would be no negotiation over the future of the Syrian President.
This position, shared publicly by the Syrian government appears to have been one reason that the Geneva peace talks have never achieved anything so the apparent change in the Iranian position seems to indicate a broadening consensus that it may be in the best interests of Syria for a government of national unity to be formed without the President.
Many have stated correctly that it should be up to the Syrian people to decide Assad’s fate and many will see the shift in the Iranian position as a sell out and a betrayal, caving in to the demand for regime change after all this time.
My understanding, is that when the Neoconservative chorus calls for regime change, this is merely a means to an end. The real goal is the destruction of the target state and the call for regime change is a ruse that is used as a vehicle to achieve this more sinister long-term goal.
The point is to demand the impossible and achieve the secondary goal on the back of the initial deliberately unrealistic demand for the leader to pack up and leave because Washington DC said so.
All of the war hype is focused on the “brutal dictator” and the idea that only if this one individual could be removed from power everything would be alright, childish nonsense in its own right but the real goal is the destruction of these states along the lines envisaged soon after 911 by the wonderfully malevolent Neoconservative US official Paul Wolfowitz.
Before the onslaught in Iraq began in March 2003 the US President delivered an ultimatum to Saddam Hussein and his sons, “Saddam Hussein and his sons must leave Iraq within 48 hours. Their refusal to do so will result in military conflict.” The US military would be entering Iraq even if Saddam chose to leave but:
“It is not too late for the Iraqi military to act with honor and protect your country by permitting the peaceful entry of coalition forces to eliminate weapons of mass destruction. Our forces will give Iraqi military units clear instructions on actions they can take to avoid being attacked and destroyed. I urge every member of the Iraqi military and intelligence services, if war comes, do not fight for a dying regime that is not worth your own life. “
When the US invaded Iraq the Iraqi military largely followed Bush’s advice and the invasion force was thus met with only limited resistance from loyalist political units while the bulk of the army stood down.
The Iraqi Government fell within weeks of the invasion as a result of this decision yet by May 2003 Paul Bremer, the ranking US civilian official in Iraq decided to disband the Iraqi Army. This decision, Coalition Provisional Authority order number 2 was the cause of Iraq’s destruction as a nation-state and all the horror that followed until the present day.
So the Neoconservative goal is to destroy Syria entirely, the demand for Assad to leave is simply the impossible demand that masks the deeper goal. The same was true in Libya.
If Assad’s departure is part of a process of forming a genuine government of national unity and thus ending the war and preserving the state this may be a worthy deal. It seems wrong that the authors of so much misery and destruction should be rewarded for their efforts but the first priority must be the preservation of life and the second the state. Such is the chaos in Syria and the strength of the extremists of Al Nusra and ISIS that it is likely the insurgency will continue on its bloody way for several years even if there is a political deal and some type of unity government is formed.
The fate of Bashar al Assad is incidental when compared to the suffering and instability caused by the war and if Assad chose to leave his fate would be a far happier one than befell Saddam Hussein and Muammar Gaddafi.
Turkish artillery shelled Kurdish positions in Syria
(Short version )
February 14th, 2016.
Turkish Artillery Attacking Syrian Kurds as Massive Escalation Threatened.
“Cessation of hostilities” mirage is dissolving.
Several Turkish politicians including Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu have been alluding to a Turkish escalation into Syria in recent days. This escalation appears to be beginning and in recent hours Turkish artillery shells have been falling on the positions of the Kurdish YPG group in the vicinity of the Menagh Airbase. There are also reports of increased activity by Turkish warplanes in the border region.
The Menagh Airbase was captured by Kurdish fighters earlier this week with the overt support of both Russia and the United States. US and other Western forces are embedded within the YPG units and there were Russian airstrikes and ammunition drops in support of the offensive to seize the airbase.
Syria: Kurdish fighters launch offensive on militant-held Menagh airbase
The Airbase was seized from the al Nusra front, it had been in the hands of rebels since it was seized by a coalition that included ISIS and the Free Syrian Army in August 2013. The seizure was spearheaded by ISIS suicide car/truck bomb attacks and yet in the pro-opposition media the victory was attributed to the Free Syrian Army.
Captured Syrian soldiers were beheaded on video by some of the ISIS fighters involved in the assault and the videos were posted on the internet.(Source)
US Key Man in Syria Worked Closely with ISIL and Jabhat al-Nusra
According to the Western media and even the NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, instead of targeting jihadist extremist fighters, the Russian Airstrikes have been targeting “moderate rebels” in Syria belonging to groups such as the Free Syrian Army.
“Russia has mainly targeted opposition groups and not ISIL (ISIS). Airstrikes of Russian planes against different opposition groups in Syria have actually undermined the efforts to reach a negotiated, peaceful solution,” (Source)
Stoltenburg has a problem with Russian bombing of al Qaeda fighters, which seems rather odd.
Yet the Free Syrian Army have been an on/off ally of ISIS for several years now in Aleppo so who on earth are they even talking about?
According to the Munich “Cessation of Hostilities” the al Nusra Front (al Qaeda in Syria) and ISIS/Daesh and their allies are still valid targets.
In the real world it was long ago stated by the US Vice President that there are no moderate militant factions in Syria of any note.
Biden admits there are NO MODERATES and the Arab Monarchies Fund Radical Islamists in Syria
All of the insurgent groups fighting in Syria of any consequence are now or have been the allies of one or both ISIS and al Nusra so they are all fair game. If Turkey and Saudi Arabia enter Syria they will risk devastating consequences beyond the imagination of their deluded leadership who appear intent on starting a major war in order to pursue the dead dream of regime change in Syria. If this leads to major war, history will condemn these criminals until the end of time.
It is interesting to note that the gangsters are no longer even trying to pretend it is about ISIS.
Turkish PM threatens military action against Syrian Kurdish fighters
False Flag a strong possibility.
Given the recent history of false flag terror attacks the Turkish leadership have apparently conducted in Suruc and Ankara and their alleged intimate connection with the al Ghouta false flag chemical attack of August 2013 in pursuit of their geopolitical goals. It would be unsurprising to see a false flag massacre conducted against the refugee population in the border region in the coming days in order to justify the Turkish escalation and invasion of Syria. I am not predicting this will happen, but if it does happen it would be true to form and no-one should believe for a second that the Russians would attack a refugee camp. If anything bad happens to those people in the border region it should be attributed to the Turks and the Saudis until conclusively proven otherwise.
The Saudis did bobm a refugee camp in the early days of the Yemen attack, on March 30th, 2015 a refugee camp was struck by a series of air strikes that left dozens of civilians dead.
None of the people concerned for the fate of the people in Aleppo had a word to say about that criminal massacre however, that is not how it works. Our “side” make honest errors versus the “other side” conduct deliberate atrocities.
Russian Su24 attacked near Syrian border and Helicopter downed in Latakia.
A Russian Su24 aircraft has been shot down in the Syrian/Turkey border region by an air to air missile fired from a Turkish F16 fighter jet
In addition it a Russian MI8 helicopter has been downed in Latakia. It is being reported that the helicopter was trying to recover the missing Russian pilot. According to the rebels, the helicopter was brought down with a US supplied TOW anti-tank missile, the helicopter was able to land the 10 or so people on board evacuated the helicopter and the rebels then blew it up on the ground.(Source)
Video by FSA said-to-show Russian-made grounded helicopter destroyed by TOW near Su-24 crash site
The Independent state that the Su24 pilots ejected and parachuted to the ground and that several helicopters were dispatched to save the pilots but that there are heavy clashes ongoing in the area.
Despite both pilots being raked with machine gun fire as they fell to the earth one of the pilots survived and is back at the Latakia airbase, the other pilot and one member of the rescue teams were killed.
Vladimir Putin: Thank you very much, Your Majesty.
Thank you for your condolences, including your words in connection with today’s crash of our fighter aircraft. This event goes beyond regular efforts to combat terrorism.
Our servicemen are engaged in a heroic fight against terrorism, not sparing themselves or their own lives. However, today’s loss is a result of a stab in the back delivered by terrorists’ accomplices. There is no other way I can qualify what happened today.
Our aircraft was shot down over Syrian territory by an air-to-air missile launched from a Turkish F-16 plane. It fell on Syrian territory, four kilometres from the Turkish border. When it was attacked in the air, it was flying at an altitude of 6,000 metres, one kilometre away from the Turkish territory. In any case, our plane and our pilots were in no way a threat to the Turkish Republic in any way. This is obvious.
They were conducting an operation to fight ISIS in northern Latakia – a mountainous area where militants, mainly those coming from the Russian Federation, are concentrated. In this sense, they were doing their direct duty delivering preventive blows at terrorists who could return to Russia at any moment. Those people should certainly be classified as international terrorists.
We have long been recording the movement of a large amount of oil and petroleum products to Turkey from ISIS-occupied territories. This explains the significant funding the terrorists are receiving. Now they are stabbing us in the back by hitting our planes that are fighting terrorism. This is happening despite the agreement we have signed with our American partners to prevent air incidents, and, as you know, Turkey is among those who are supposed to be fighting terrorism within the American coalition.
If ISIS is making so much money – we are talking about tens or maybe even hundreds of millions, possibly billions of dollars – in oil trade and they are supported by the armed forces of an entire state, it is clear why they are being so daring and impudent, why they are killing people in such gruesome ways, why they are committing terrorist attacks all over the world, including in the heart of Europe.
We will of course carefully analyse what has happened and today’s tragic event will have significant consequences for Russian-Turkish relations.
We have always treated Turkey not merely as a close neighbour, but as a friendly state. I do not know who benefits from what has happened today. We certainly do not. Moreover, instead of immediately establishing contacts with us, as far as we know Turkey turned to its NATO partners to discuss this incident. As if we had hit their plane and not the other way around.
Do they wish to make NATO serve ISIS? I know that every state has its regional interests, and we always respect those. However, we will never turn a blind eye to such crimes as the one that was committed today.
Obviously, we expect the international community to make an effort to join forces in the fight against this common evil.
In this connection, we are counting on the active participation of all the countries in the region in this struggle. I am therefore very happy to meet with you today, Your Majesty. We will continue working with your special services experts and your military, as well as with other countries in the region.
Putin is generally a very, very cold individual, today he seemed both tired and enraged.
The US has offered no comment at this stage, a NATO emergency meeting is scheduled for later in the day.
This may be the beginning of a chain of cataclysmic events.
The shooting down of Syrian aircraft by Turkey has happened several times already but the entrance of Russia puts an entirely different complexion on this event as it does all others in this war.
The Russian Airforce are destroying ISIL and all the Syrian rebel groups, this situation is intolerable to the likes of the Turkish, Saudi, Israeli governments and American Neocon elements.
Preliminary accounts from Russia and Turkey. (Source)
Turkish jets shot down a warplane believed to be a Russian type SU-24 for violating Turkey’s airspace near its border with Syria on Tuesday, Turkish presidential sources said.
The warplane went down in Syria’s northwestern Turkmen town of Bayirbucak near Turkey’s border within the framework of engagement rules, the sources added.
The Turkish General Staff said the downed foreign jet was issued 10 warnings in five minutes and it was shot down by two F-16s.
Turkish Armed Forces Chief of General Staff Hulusi Akar briefed Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan about the situation following the crash. Akar along with Turkish Foreign Minister Feridun Sinirlioglu also briefed Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu.
Former British diplomat Craig Murray offered this early assessment of Turkey’s actions.
I calculate that each “incursion” over Turkish territory would have lasted about 10 seconds, assuming the plane was flying slowly at 600mph. That Turkey shot down the plane for this is madness, and absolutely indefensible. It is fairly obvious from the track that the plane was operating against Turkish sponsored Turkmen rebels inside Syria, and that is why the Turks shot it down. (Source)
As far as Turkeys demands for their sovereignty to be respected go, that is an absolute joke as Turkey respects neither the sovereignty of Iraq nor Syria launching frequent bombing attacks on Kurdish targets in both nations.
The idea that they should perceive an aircraft in their airspace as a threat and target it on hat basis is not credible.
Turkey is so audacious and criminal they have set up a military observation position complete with NATO listening post INSIDE Syria as this Russian television report depicts.
Great Russian TV report from the Syrian town Kessab on the border with Turkey
This is a provocation that in a worst case scenario could lead to all out war between NATO and Russia leaving an unthinkable number of people dead.
Russian sources are already describing this as a NATO declaration of war on Russia.

Russian strikes for terrorists isis in Palmyra
Following the “go along to get along” decision by Russia to blame ISIL for destroying the Metrojet Flight 9268 over the Sinai peninsula Russia announced that it’s fleet of aircraft operating in Syria is set to increase by an extra 37 from the current size of fifty.
Russias actions on this matter and the earlier MH17 disaster should end any illusion of Russia being anything other than a self-interested completely dishonest power that stages minor truth incursions from time to time for tactical effect.
Russia then launched a new series of “demonstration” operations, using long range strategic bombers flown from Southern Russia to target ISIL and firing cruise missiles that were photographed as they flew over Syria towards their target in Raqqa.
RAW: Moment Russian cruise missile flies by targeting ISIS in Syria
The Russian president cleverly subverted the French move to send the aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle to Syria and capitalised to a degree on the tribal mindset imposed by the trauma of the Paris tragedy by making it publicly known that Russian forces were being instructed to co-operate with the French Navy and Air Force.
The way the announcement was managed and the timing mean it is now all but impossible for France to openly act against the Russian operation in any way.
France started bombing ISIL in Syria months ago so the statement from the French president Hollande that “We are at war” following the Paris attacks was completely ridiculous.
They had already been at war with ISIL in Syria.
So it seems as though the silly Zio fantasy speech from the first episode of this seasons Homeland may come true.
Homeland — Quinn tells it like it is
The speech is prime cut pure garbage. Asked about Syria the fictional CIA killer states that the US should either send 200, 000 troops to permanently occupy the Muddle East, accompanied, most laughably by “school teachers and medics” otherwise they should bomb Raqqa and kill everyone who lives there.
The lies are a constant feature of modern life in the West but the volume and intensity are at the highest level that I have witnessed.
So, publicly at least, the West and Russia are going to be one big happy gang of bombers and they will flatten Raqqa and this will probably achieve very little.
The idea that all the people living in Raqqa are committed jihadists hellbent on the destruction of the West and a new Islamic conquest is just another infantile Zionist fantasy.
The people who live there are just people from a Sunni Arab background the same as the people left in Mosul.
It is telling that Mosul is barely mentioned when the discussion of the ISIL capital arises.
This is because Mosul is not in Syria, and Iraq having already been destroyed is no longer a priority target so the fact that Mosul is a city at least four times the size of Raqqa and ISIL are more powerful in Iraq than Syria is on the lengthy “mot for mention” list.
ISIL will presumably be defeated in the coming months but ISIL are simply the favoured “demon brand” of the moment.
The only real difference between ISIL and the al Nusra front is tactical, the al Nusra Front also believe in building a Caliphate (not that ISIL are really building a Caliphate but this is the crap they tell the fools who believe in their movement) the only difference is that al Nusra believe that the caliphate cannot be built until the jihadists win the war in Syria.
So these people are still going to be in Syria and Iraq, heavily armed and in numbers even if every ISIL member were to be killed.
Equally, the sponsors of the War on Terror will simply find another group of salafists to be their new “demon brand” just as ISIL replaced al Qaeda.
There was an understanding, although this was never entirely spelled out, that now that Russia was openly fighting on the side of Syria, Iran and Hezbollah in Syria, that Israel would respect the fact that Russia is a greater military power and cease its bombing of Syrian government and allied forces inside Syria..
The Russian assumptions on this matter were articulated in this interview with Russian academic from the Middle east Center at St. Petersburg University Alexander Sitnichenko although Mr. Sitnichenko never actually makes the comment attributed to him in the title about Israel having no choice but to support the Russian operation.
Russian analyst: Israel has no choice but to support Russian military operation in Syria
At the end of the interview Mr. Sitnichenko alludes to an ultra Zionist plot to build the Third Temple on the site of the al Aqsa mosque in East Jerusalem and states that according to Christians and Muslims this event would precipitate Armageddon.
The first sign that the Russian Israeli Joint Commission may not have succeeded in its goal and that Israel would not accept Russian military superiority and back off came in mid October when it was reported that Russian jets intercepted Israeli fighter jets over Lebanon and caused them to return to their bases without conducting whatever operation was intended.
On October 30th Israel attacked several Hezbollah and Syrian positions in the Qalamoun region of Western Syria close to the Lebanon border. Debka file, an Israeli intelligence outlet, described it thus:
sources described a large number of Israeli airplanes as bombing a Hezbollah unit based in the village of El Ain in northern Lebanon and the arms depot of the 155th Brigade of the Syrian army at Al-Katifa to the east.
Part of the intention may have been to distract from the successes the Syrians and their allies are achieving in Aleppo province where the insurgents are suffering severe setbacks and taking heavy losses in personnel, equipment and territory.
Prior to the Russian intervention Israel had conducted more than a dozen attacks on Syria throughout the Syrian war, the most memorable and infamous being the apparent tactical nuclear strike on a military base on the outskirts of Damascus in May 2013.
Israeli Nuclear Attack on Syria, All Known Footage
Russia has recently installed sophisticated anti-aircraft systems at its base in Syria.
“A joint air defense system has been set up in Syria with Russia’s participation, which protects all military and strategically important civilian sites, including the Latakia airfield, where the Russian air group is based now,” the source aid.
The joint air defense system in Syria also includes modernized Osa, S-125 Pechora-2M, S-200, and other systems, he said.”
Russia has also in recent days agreed to supply the S300 anti aircraft system to Iran. A fulfillment of a long-delayed contract and another action that Israel violently opposes.
Borjal-Barajaneh Hezbollah;s heartland and stronghold in South Beirut has been struck by two explosions that have left at least 37 dead and almost 200 wounded., The area has been the site of several previous terror attacks in response to Hezbollah’s involvement in Syria.
When the takfiri mercenaries and dupes face defeat on the battlefield they respond with these low tactics.
There is a lesson to be learned from the coincidence of these apparently disconnected events. The Metrojet massacre, the IAF attack on Damascus airport and the latest terror massacre in South Beirut are all coming from the same source.
If Russia allows them to continue with these operations Russia itself will appear to be a paper tiger and an ally of limited value.
Russia surely must find a way to convince Israel that any further violations of Syrian sovereignty are not in their interests.
Hopefully this can be achieved without the use of force but sadly, force may be the only thing they understand., it seems that until Russia finds the will to teach Israel a painful lesson these atrocities will continue all around the world as the coalition of the wicked protest their relative impotence with these terrorist attacks.
Today SITE intelligence is reporting that ISIL are threatening to attack Russia “very soon.”
Curiously no mention is made of the Sinai air disaster that the group has repeatedly attempted to claim they caused despite it becoming increasingly clear that Israel and some of their Blue Flag exercise allies were the culprit and the jet was destroyed by a missile attack.
.Both sides are reporting a major, albeit fragile victory for the Syrian Government forces and allies in the Aleppo countryside, the site of the largest Syrian offensive conducted since the Russian intervention began.
The Kweires Air base had been surrounded and besieged since 2013, Around 3oo troops remained in what was an island in an ISIL controlled area. Syrian Government forces have now broken the siege destroying the insurgents positions surrounding the facility in what appears to be a major achievement.
Iranian media are reporting that the commander of the Revolutionary Guards Quds force Qasem Soleimani .is leading the assault on the ISIl forces in Eastern Aleppo. this is a clear sign that they believe the operation will succeed as the image and prestige of the commander are clearly important to them.
“Army and the armed forces eliminated large numbers of ISIS terrorists and make contact with the forces defending Kweires Airport in Aleppo’s eastern countryside,” the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) said on Tuesday.”
