 Aleppo Encirclement Restored.

After a month of fierce resistance the insurgent defensive positions at the Aleppo military colleges collapsed on September the 4th following a day of dozens of Russian airstrikes and a two-pronged ground assault on their positions conducted by the Palestinian/Syrian loyalist militia Liwa al Quds and the Tiger Forces of the Syrian Army.

Such was the intensity of the fighting that it is as though winter has come early in the area of the military academies as the battles have blown all the foliage from the branches of the trees.

If nothing else the insurgents deserve respect for forcing the Syrians to destroy the colleges and surrounding buildings in order to displace them.  and while loyalists crowed that the insurgents had “Lost 1000 fighters in order to deliver three watermelon trucks!”both sides took heavy casualties in a month of some of the most intense and violent urban combat of the entire war.

The restoration of the encirclement of the insurgent pocket in east Aleppo and has triggered a predictable and laughable barrage of propaganda from the pro-insurgent media in their desperation to save the doomed jihadists in Aleppo city..

breaking point, this was the moment that it all became too much for the insurgents entrenched in the Artillery College and they fled their positions.

There is something indescribably sad about this bullet scarred mural at one of the Aleppo Military Colleges. It is almost a metaphor for all that Syria has lost over the past five years and provides a glimpse into a shattered past.

East Aleppo Under Siege.

The supply line through Ramouseh was never truly reopened, due to the intense fighting taking place and at this point it can be stated definitively that the Ibrahim al Youssef offensive failed in its objectives, and the insurgent claim that they were going to seize all of Aleppo city has now been rendered absurd, and while the carve up of northern Syria is now underway, the core Syrian state will survive and Aleppo city will be included.

They hold only one minor regional capital, Idlib and any realistic view of the regime change effort would accept the fact that this effort has failed and has been the major cause of the immense and continuing suffering of the blameless Syrian people.

The insurgents are going to lose in Aleppo, just as they were defeated in Homs, Darayya and many other former strongholds and with the loss of Aleppo all pretensions towards the insurgents playing a major role in the future of Syria, much less of achieving victory. will be gone.

Once Russia became heavily involved in the conflict, the regime change project faced a choice between defeat and war with Russia, and so desperate were the empire’s minions to maintain their supremacy many favor the military option, war with Russia on behalf of Al Qaeda, it makes perfect sense!

Chlorine.

The groups fighting the US military in Iraq began using chlorine gas bombs in 2004. these groups conducted dozens of attacks using the gas, but abandoned the tactic because of its ineffectiveness. Chlorine gas is very rarely deadly,”or as Wikipedia describes it “have proven not to be a viable means of inflicting massive loss of life. ”

Chlorine bombings in Iraq – Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Syrian Armed forces have access to a virtually inexhaustible supply of high explosives and the systems to deliver them onto a target. Sometimes they use napalm, sometimes the Russian Air Force uses phosphorous and other incendiaries. These weapons are both far more terrifying and effective than any chlorine device that has ever been constructed. The idea that anyone with access to these ferocious munitions would resort to the use of the nuisance value chlorine is a joke.

Incendiary munitions airstrikes on targets in rebel held parts of Aleppo

Anyone who is capable of rational thought will see that the only party with any motive for launching chlorine gas attacks are the insurgents.

After Syria gave up its chemical weapons stockpile in the wake of the East Ghouta false flag attack of August 2013, it was no longer possible for the insurgents to commit mass murder with Sarin and blame it on the government in the hope of causing the US to enter the war and bomb them to victory.

But the insurgents still needed to find a lever to provoke the US to act as their air force so in their desperate position they have resorted to conducting small-scale attacks with Chlorine gas and blaming them on the Government.

These claims are not worthy even of contempt but the Western media embrace them without question, still seeking to fulfill their master’s goal of regime change in Syria and willing to tell any lie, support any evil to make it happen.

The Death of the UN.

Recently the UN even chipped in with a report blaming the government for these attacks, on the basis of eyewitnesses who claimed the chlorine was dropped from helicopters.

Despite the fact that pretty much every airstrike that takes place near a populated area in Syria is filmed, no-one has ever filmed any of the helicopters supposedly responsible for the dozens of such alleged attacks.

This Robert Parryarticle provides an excellent analysis of this issue:

UN Team Heard Claims of ‘Staged’ Chemical Attacks

The fact that the UN released a report supporting this brazen, low and despicable narrative merely indicates that the UN itself is an entirely bankrupt and worthless organisation, something that has been obvious for many years.

U.N. Admits Role In Haiti Cholera Outbreak That Has Killed Thousands : The Two-Way : NPR

“The ongoing Haiti cholera outbreak is the worst epidemic of cholera in recent history, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.[5] After the 2010 earthquake, in little over two years, as of April 2013, it has affected has killed at least 7,000 Haitians and sickened a few hundred thousand more while spreading to neighboring countries including the Dominican Republic and Cuba.[6] Since the outbreak began in October 2010, more than 6% of Haitians have had the disease.[7]” (Source)

It goes without saying that no-one within the sick parody that is the modern-day UN was held responsible for this act of momentous incompetence that has led tot the deaths of thousands of Haitian civilians.

If the professional liars responsible for that nonsense think they are fooling anyone with an IQ above room temperature they are in for a rude awakening.

The Syrian Army and their allies have played their part, they have done their job, now it is incumbent on those outside Syria to destroy the reprehensible propaganda edifice that will seek to prevent their victory in Aleppo.

Russian Helicopter Downed and Massive Insurgent Offensive to Break the Aleppo Siege.

The Russian Military have suffered their worst loss of the 10 month Syrian engagement after an MI8 helicopter crashed in the insurgent held Idlib province yesterday. All five personnel on board are believed dead although in the footage of the aftermath only two bodies can be seen.

These bodies are a considerable distance from the downed helicopter suggesting that the people dead on the ground survived the crash and were able to crawl from the burning helicopter before succumbing to their wounds or being executed by the insurgents who found them.

These lkosses bring the Russian death toll in Syria to at least nineteen. (Source) It is also claimed that a number of Russian private military contractors have also perished in Syria and this may well be true but is very hard to substantiate.

The cause of the crash is not known and it is worth remembering that when two Russians died in an MI35 helicopter crash last month, jihadists were initially blamed for shooting it down but the visual evidence indicated that the helicopter was struck by a missile fired from another helicopter operating in the area.

Therefore, the MI8 cannot be presumed to have been shot down by the insurgents, and generally when the insurgents are going to do something big they always film it so this may have been lucky small arms fire, a missile or an accident due to pilot error or mechanical failure. It is being reported as being the result of ground fire, this may well be correct or merely the most dramatic rendering of the incident. (the Russian military later confirmed ground fire as the cause of the loss of the helicopter- Source)

The helicopter crashed near the town of Saraqib in Idlib province, a stronghold of the Sunni extremist insurgents.where the Syrian government hold only two small Shia majority towns al Fu’ah and Kafriyah, besieged since early 2015. (Source)

Footage posted on Liveleak showed a large group of locals gathered at the site of the crash. One fellow is seen jumping up and down on the corpse of a dead Russian, it is very sad to see that these people have sunk to such a level.

Idlib has a repotation for being something of a backwater by Syrian standards and the insurgency is strongest where people are the least sophisticated with Raqqa and Deir ez Zour other examples of this phenomenon.

The result of the incident will be increased support for the war in Russia, especially because of the  desecration the bodies of the dead, the kind of act that causes people to demand more planes drop bigger bombs upon the opposition held areas.

Massive Insurgent Offensive to Break the Aleppo Siege.

The loss of the Russian helicopter and the crew is the headline that appears on the news but the really important thing event in Syria over the past days has been a massive insurgent offensive aimed at breaking the siege of the Eastern Aleppo insurgent pocket.

On July 31st, the jihadists launched a series of coordinated attacks across a wide area of the contact line in Southern Aleppo. The largest attack was to the southwest of Aleppo and this offensive started with two immense suicide vehicle bombings against a site named the al Hikmat school that had been turned into a military barracks by the Syrian Army..

Ten seconds after the first massive blast, a second vehicle was detonated and these attacks enabled the insurgent infantry and armour to over run the Syria Army defensive lines and make their way to within only kilometres of opening a new supply route into Aleppo city.

VBIEDs hit army barrack in southern Aleppo

Once the loyalists realised what was happening they were able to strike back and much of the territory lost on the first day has now been retrieved (it is being reported that 5 of the 8 positions lost have been retrieved) although fighting is ongoing and the situation is fluid.

Meanwhile insurgent shelling of government held Aleppo has killed 30 civilians over the past several days. (Source)

Only the Restoration of the State Will End the Syrian Nightmare.

There is no doubt that civilians are dying at the hands of all parties to the conflict. It is heartbreaking to see what the Russian and US coalition airstrikes do to the blameless people of insurgent held Syria, and if anyone really had a problem with killing civilians there would be no bombs dropped from thousands of feet above heavily populated areas.

However history makes it perfectly clear that if the jihadists win the war, that will only be the beginning of the nightmare for the people of Syria. For reference we need only look to present day Libya or even Afghanistan after the mujaheddin finally won the war in 1992,  an proceeded to embark on a new civil war as the victorious warlords squabble over the spoils of the successful campaign.

Therefore a loyalist victory, a government victory represents the only realistic hope for a viable and peaceful future for the long suffering people of Syria.

The Liberation of Palmyra.

Civilisation triumphs over the forces of nihilism, chaos and destruction.

The US Air force stood, watched and did nothing in May 2015 as the city of Palmyra fell to  ISIS.

Ten months later and Russia has emerged as the defender of civilisation in Syria and nothing makes this clearer than the liberation of Palmyra.

While the US was perfectly happy to stand back and watch Syria being looted and pillaged by the forces of chaos and mayhem, Russia sent her soldiers  to fight and die in the fight against them and they have succeeded.

It was an extremely difficult and costly operation and only a week ago ISIS appeared to have the upper hand in the fighting around Palmyra the short video below shows a Russian journalist embedded with the Syrian Army under a hail of fire, pinned down and trapped as ISIS fighters rain accurate fire down on the Syrians from an elevated position. The trapped soldiers had to wait for nightfall to be able to move.

While ISIS clearly made a tactical decision to withdraw from Palmyra and Tadmur this week, the group are still present in the area, still well armed and still capable of mounting successful small-scale attacks.

The Western “Response.”

Reporting on the liberation of Palmyra, the BBC World Service were reduced to offering the pitiful “many blame the Syrian Government for allowing the city to fall.”

It is worth remembering that fewer than two years ago the Western elite and their pet media were trying to present the Russian President, with a straight face, as the new Hitler.

This now laughable idea was actually a very popular meme throughout 2014 being voiced by Democrat front-runner Hillary Clinton, the British Prime Minister and the next in line to the British throne, among many others.

The hollow men and woman of the Western media supported these fallacious pronouncements as they do everything, with mindless enthusiasm and transparent sophistry.

The southern outpost of the Mighty Wurlitzer took to the task with shameless relish.

Hillary Clinton’s comparison of Vladimir Putin and Adolf Hitler checks out – Fact Check – ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation)

So these latest developments are another self-inflicted moment of acute humiliation for the self appointed masters of the universe.

In this light the muted, sulking and whining response to the Russian operation in Syria and the Palmyra triumph make perfect sense.

The past two years have been among other things one long festival of humiliation for the Neoconservative Western elite, much of it at the hands of the Russian President. This must be a difficult moment for them.

In the Daily Beast they were still droning and whining about moderate rebels, in an unintentionally comedic piece written in the parallel universe of the Western propagandist where al Qaeda are moderate democrats!

Putin and Assad Score a Major Victory Against ISIS, After Hitting Syrian Rebels for Months – The Daily Beast

To describe the al Nusra Front are a terror group is a simple statement of fact. This is their legal status as designated by the UN along with their parent organisation al Qaeda.

al Nusra front deserve the designation having conducted terror attacks that target civilians in both Syria and Lebanon where the “plucky moderates” sent a suicide bomber to commit murder in a Tripoli cafe in late 2014.

Nusra Front claims Lebanon suicide attack – Al Jazeera English

They have massacred numerous groups from whom they differ including Shia, Christian and Druze. They have desecrated Christian churches, they have conducted chemical weapons attacks against both military and civilian targets. The only meaningful ideological difference they have with ISIS is that they believe in building an Islamic State in Syria after the war ISIS have tried and failed to do so during the war.

Any “journalist” who attempts to portray the Syrian opposition other than ISIS as being moderate is either a brazen liar and fraudster or simply a tool who deserves to the same contempt they have for their audience.

Al Nusra are the pivot group of the entire Syrian insurgency, throughout the war they have been allied with militant factions across the board and were the core and spearhead of the Army of Conquest coalition that swept through north-western Syria in 2015 seizing the province of Idlib.  Jabhat al Nusra have maintained alliances with the supposed moderates of the Free Syrian Army throughout the entire war.

The Road Ahead.

The Syrian Army are in the process of de-mining Palmyra, removing the hundreds of bombs and booby traps placed by the guerrillas, other units have fanned out in several directions and although clashes continue in the Palmyra area it is expected that the Syrian Army and their allies will soon  begin to move further north-east as they follow the M7 highway towards Der ez Zour.

Der ez Zour is 200kms away through a desert of sparse villages. If ISIS choose to mount guerrilla raids on the advancing forces it may take them months to advance across the desert.

On the other hand if the group withdraw the Syrian Army could be fighting to break the siege of Der ez Zour within weeks. If recent history is any guide it will be many months.

Palmyra victory has Syrian Army set to break ISIS siege on Deir Ezzor

If the Syrian Army manage to cross the desert and link up with the forces besieged in Der ez Zour, the current episode of the Caliphate project will be over. The forces in Syria will be reduced to operating in small isolated pockets of territory.

Amidst the deafening silence, the obfuscation and barefaced lies, Robert Fisk of the Independent stood out as one Western journalist willing to state the truth about Palmyra and the West.

Why is David Cameron so silent on the recapture of Palmyra from the clutches of Isis?

“So in the end, it was the Syrian army and its Hezbollah chums from Lebanon and the Iranians and the Russians who drove the Isis murderers out of Palmyra, and who may – heavens preserve us from such a success – even storm the Isis Syrian ‘capital’ of Raqqa. I have written many times that the Syrian army will decide the future of Syria. If they grab back Raqqa – and Deir el-Zour, where the Nusrah front destroyed the church of the Armenian genocide and threw the bones of the long-dead 1915 Christian victims into the streets – I promise you we will be silent again.”

Terrorist Massacre in Iraq.

On March 26th the ceremony following a children’s soccer match was attacked by a seventeen year old ISIS suicide bomber named Saifullah al Ansar. The attack left 41 people dead and scores wounded.

The videos below depicts the attack on al Asirya village near the town of Iskandariya,* located around 50kms south of the Iraqi capital.

These videos do not show any of the carnage caused by the attack, merely people’s reaction to what has happened, as well as showing the moment of the blast.

There is a stark contrast between the unmistakable terror and horror as people respond to this event compared to the Brussels aftermath despite the fact that the people of Iraq are far more accustomed to acts of extreme violence having experienced four major wars over recent decades along with an ultra-violent insurgency now in its thirteenth year.

Iraq: At least 29 killed in suicide bomb attack at football match

ISIS Suicide Bomber in Iraq Kills Dozens at Soccer Game ,Most of the crowd were young people

As ISIS begin to collapse as a conventional army able to stand and fight, the tactics change from fighting battles to low terrorist attacks such as the one at Iskandariya.

The only purpose is to show that they can still cause heavy casualties and suffering despite being defeated on the battlefield.

These attacks are impotent acts of rage and bitterness that show that ISIS is in the early stages of battlefield collapse in both Syria and Iraq.

The suicide truck bombs so central to their success have now become overwhelmingly ineffective. The bombers rarely reach their targets as the Iraqi and Syrian military have become competent in destroying the vehicles with rockets and heavy weapons as they travel towards them.

Every week numerous failed suicide car and truck bomb attacks are filmed and posted on the Internet, the Youtube channel Stahlgewitter Syrien specialises in videos of these successfully foiled attacks. These are two recent examples.

The story Russia put out that it was pulling out f Syria has turned out to have been something of an exaggeration. Around a quarter of the around 100 Russian Aircraft stationed at the peak remain in Syria and in addition Russian Special Forces are in action on the ground.

A member of the Russian Special Forces and possibly more, recently died in the fighting against ISIS near the central Syrian city of Palmyra. The group claimed to have killed five Russian soldiers and this may well be true. It is certain that at least one Russian died as the group were able to photograph the body and loot the soldier’s impressive array of equipment which they video recorded.

The Islamic State group seized Palmyra in May 2015 and the Syrian Army have been conducting an operation to free the city from the clutches of the puppet psychopaths of ISIS for several months now with mixed results.

It is now being reported that the Syrian Military and their allies have liberated Palmyra and the adjacent town Tadmur. If so this will be an immense symbolic victory and makes it completely impossible for Neoconservatives (and their media) to claim that Syria and Russia are not fighting ISIS as they have been trying to pretend until recently.

Heavy Russian and US Airstrikes Blast Mosul and Raqqa.

On March 19th Russia launched an intense overnight bombardment of the town of Raqqa.  All of the casualty numbers are estimates but it was reported that 60 people died in the strikes and that thirteen civilians were among the dead. The casualty numbers are often distorted due to the fact that most militant factions will cover up their own casualties and accentuate civilian casualties instead for obvious reasons.

A day later the US launched a tremendous bombardment of Mosul, the ISIS capital. Limited media reports stated that at least 25 civilians and an unknown number of ISIS fighters died in the attacks.

Scores of Civilians Killed in US-Led Air Strikes on Mosul

Neither the Russian or US attacks received high media attention as the violent deaths of middle eastern civilians are not deemed newsworthy in the West unless required for specific propaganda purposes.

Listening to the Republican candidates debate whether or not Raqqa should be struck with nuclear weapons it is impossible to avoid the conclusion that many Westerners have completely lost their conception of humanity after more than a decade of permanent war.

It is laughable the way that the US political class still pretends that the effort against ISIS is ineffectual as the group are on the brink of military collapse but to say so would reduce the rationale for the desired Western invasion of Syria.

For Cruz to muse about “glowing radioactive sand” shows he is a depraved and unprincipled opportunist and it is breathtaking to imagine a culture where an individual prances around with his chest out about what a devout Christian he is while musing about using nuclear weapons against civilians, a satanic idea on every level.

Cruz Threatens to Nuke ISIS Targets – Consortiumnews

Human beings of any quality, human beings who deserve the appellation do not engage in these behaviours, let alone true Christians. What a fraud and a joke is the current Pope fulminating against Trump on the border issue but offering total silence in the face of Cruz salivating over whom he is going to nuke.

If people cannot see the clear difference between the Brussels event and the real victims of violence depicted on this page they should have another look, it is pretty obvious.

Massive Breakthroughs!

Loyalist Victories Prove Russian Presence Has Transformed the Syrian War.

Aleppo victories mean that Insurgents Northern supply line has been severed.

Aleppo City pocket almost encircled.

After four months of Russian Airstrikes the situation in Syria has been transformed and in the past several weeks the Loyalist forces have won important victories in the North and South of Syria with the capture of the key crossroads town Sheikh Miskeen in the South as well as the key towns Salma and Rabia in the northern Latakia province.

Those important victories have this week been eclipsed by the major achievements in Aleppo where the sieges of the towns Zahra and Nubil were lifted after forty months and the loyalist forces have now cut off the insurgents in Northern Aleppo from their supply lines via the Aleppo countryside and the Turkish border. Both sides are taking heavy casualties but the Syrian Army and allies are achieving their objectives, the insurgents are dying and at the same time losing territories they fought hard for years to capture and hold.

The Suffering is Immense.

There should be no mistake about the fact there is an immense amount of suffering currently being visited upon the beleaguered people of Syria, nor that the Russian/Syrian air campaign is playing a significant role in this suffering and death.

While many of the areas of fighting in Syria are devoid of civilians, having been emptied during previous battles, many people live in rebel held areas of Idlib, Aleppo and several other provinces and civilians in these areas have died in large numbers at the hands of Russian and Syrian airstrikes targeting militant positions.

The insurgent and Western media propaganda line that Russian Airstrikes are targeting civilians is not supported by facts or logic, but the idea that the Russian Air-force are launching thousands of airstrikes without killing civilians is equally ludicrous and the Russian media do themselves no credit the way they have completely ignored the civilian deaths the air campaign has caused.

Despite this the Syrian-Russian-Iranian operation is worthy of support because a victory for the insurgents in Syria would not see an end to the fighting but would lead to fracture and descent into chaos as competing insurgent warlords vied for power.

Previous victories in Afghanistan and more recently in Libya have seen this descent into chaos and failed statehood status. If the likes of Jaish al Islam, Ahrar al Sham, al Nusra and ISIL/Daesh were vying for power the results would be almost identical to the process that has seen the once thriving Libyan state become a failed and broken state and a base for the extremists who threaten to attack the West and bring instability to wherever they operate.

The only party with any chance of stabilising the situation is the Syrian state, deeply flawed as it is. All other paths lead to long term mayhem and broadening instability.

Turkish, Saudi Ground Operation in Syria Spells Major Trouble for NATO

Saudi Arabia and the mini me Gulf States the UAE and Qatar have responded to this situation by suggesting that they will send troops into Syria to “battle Daesh.”A pretext that should no longer fools anyone.

The Gulf coalition are clearly already suffering a severe shortage of quality ground forces, hence their need to deploy Blackwater/Academi/Xe mercenaries in large numbers on the ground in Yemen. Saudi Arabia is also suffering regular cross border raids from their Yemeni enemies.

As far as Turkey goes they are not going to be able to do anything significant in Syria without the assent of the US and there is little chance of that happening given that the key Turkish target in Syria is the key US ally, the YPG Kurds. It is a non-starter even by Erdogan’s loose standards.

Erdogan calls on US to choose between Turkey or Syrian Kurds | THE DAILY STAR

The US has no interest in choosing between Turkey and the Syrian Kurds, but a leadership change in Turkey may allow the US to solve the dilemma in another manner.

Turkey still supports the regime change operation in Syria but they are not about to attack the Syrian Army inside Syria and find themselves under bombardment from the Russian Air force.

One option they may seek to take would be to corral the tens of thousands of refugees fleeing the Aleppo fighting within Syria and send a “protection force” to institute the long mooted (and even announced in July 2015) safe zone in Northern Syria although whatever happens the presence in Syria of the Russian S400 anti aircraft and missile systems mean the proposed no fly zone is an impossibility short of open war with Russia and the highly factionalised US administration does not seem to support this project therefore it will not happen.

The US refused to support the safe zone prior to the Russian military involvement in Syria, back in July, when the risks and costs were far lower so it seems inconceivable that it would be supported at this time . At a moment of high desperation for the plotters the refugees will presumably be again used to try and rescue the situation.

This video is quite horrific. It consists of a plea for unity among insurgent factions. The wounded fighter is named Abu Homs. Ending the Carnage.

Even if the Syrian Arab Army and their allies are able to win every battle and destroy the insurgent formations, a political solution will still be required and the insurgents will have to be given some type of autonomy and increased participation in Syrian politics otherwise the insurhency will continue indefinitely long after the war ends, as has happened in Iraq.

The initial round of Syria peace talks were an empty farce with the opposition making the ridiculous demand that the Syrian Government and their allies stop fighting prior to the dialogue. It can only be hoped that the reality of their situation dawns upon them soon and a more realistic and conciliatory outlook will replace the delusional grandstanding that still dominate the opposition public narrative.

Turkish F-16 fighter jets shoot down jet of unknown origin near Syrian border – ABC Australia.

The Russian President has delivered a response to the downing of the Russian fighter and the death of at least one pilot.

Vladimir Putin spoke from Sochi where he was meeting King Abdullah of Jordan.

Putin: Downing of Russian jet over Syria stab in the back by terrorist accomplices

This is a transcript of Putin’s comments.

Meeting with King Abdullah II of Jordan • President of Russia

Vladimir Putin: Thank you very much, Your Majesty.

Thank you for your condolences, including your words in connection with today’s crash of our fighter aircraft. This event goes beyond regular efforts to combat terrorism.

Our servicemen are engaged in a heroic fight against terrorism, not sparing themselves or their own lives. However, today’s loss is a result of a stab in the back delivered by terrorists’ accomplices. There is no other way I can qualify what happened today.

Our aircraft was shot down over Syrian territory by an air-to-air missile launched from a Turkish F-16 plane. It fell on Syrian territory, four kilometres from the Turkish border. When it was attacked in the air, it was flying at an altitude of 6,000 metres, one kilometre away from the Turkish territory. In any case, our plane and our pilots were in no way a threat to the Turkish Republic in any way. This is obvious.

They were conducting an operation to fight ISIS in northern Latakia – a mountainous area where militants, mainly those coming from the Russian Federation, are concentrated. In this sense, they were doing their direct duty delivering preventive blows at terrorists who could return to Russia at any moment. Those people should certainly be classified as international terrorists.

We have long been recording the movement of a large amount of oil and petroleum products to Turkey from ISIS-occupied territories. This explains the significant funding the terrorists are receiving. Now they are stabbing us in the back by hitting our planes that are fighting terrorism. This is happening despite the agreement we have signed with our American partners to prevent air incidents, and, as you know, Turkey is among those who are supposed to be fighting terrorism within the American coalition.

If ISIS is making so much money – we are talking about tens or maybe even hundreds of millions, possibly billions of dollars – in oil trade and they are supported by the armed forces of an entire state, it is clear why they are being so daring and impudent, why they are killing people in such gruesome ways, why they are committing terrorist attacks all over the world, including in the heart of Europe.

We will of course carefully analyse what has happened and today’s tragic event will have significant consequences for Russian-Turkish relations.

We have always treated Turkey not merely as a close neighbour, but as a friendly state. I do not know who benefits from what has happened today. We certainly do not. Moreover, instead of immediately establishing contacts with us, as far as we know Turkey turned to its NATO partners to discuss this incident. As if we had hit their plane and not the other way around.

Do they wish to make NATO serve ISIS? I know that every state has its regional interests, and we always respect those. However, we will never turn a blind eye to such crimes as the one that was committed today.

Obviously, we expect the international community to make an effort to join forces in the fight against this common evil.

In this connection, we are counting on the active participation of all the countries in the region in this struggle. I am therefore very happy to meet with you today, Your Majesty. We will continue working with your special services experts and your military, as well as with other countries in the region.

Thank you.

Putin is generally a  very, very cold individual, today he seemed both tired and enraged.

The US has offered no comment at this stage, a NATO emergency meeting is scheduled for later in the day.

This may be the beginning of a chain of cataclysmic events.

The shooting down of Syrian aircraft by Turkey has happened several times already but the entrance of Russia puts an entirely different complexion on this event as it does all others in this war.

The Russian Airforce are destroying ISIL and all the Syrian rebel groups, this situation is intolerable to the likes of the Turkish, Saudi, Israeli governments and American Neocon elements.

Here’s Russia’s Ministry of Defence version of what happened

Today an aircraft from the Russian air group in the Syrian Arab Republic crashed on the territory of Syria supposedly shot down from the ground.

The aircraft was flying at the altitude of 6,000 metres. The status of the Russian pilots is being defined.

According to the preliminary data, the pilots managed to eject from the warplane.

The circumstances of the crash are being defined.

During all the flight time, the aircraft was flying only within the borders of the Syrian territory. That was registered by objective monitoring data.

Turkey’s version of events courtesy of the state Anadolu agency”

Turkish jets shot down a warplane believed to be a Russian type SU-24 for violating Turkey’s airspace near its border with Syria on Tuesday, Turkish presidential sources said.

The warplane went down in Syria’s northwestern Turkmen town of Bayirbucak near Turkey’s border within the framework of engagement rules, the sources added.

The Turkish General Staff said the downed foreign jet was issued 10 warnings in five minutes and it was shot down by two F-16s.

Turkish Armed Forces Chief of General Staff Hulusi Akar briefed Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan about the situation following the crash. Akar along with Turkish Foreign Minister Feridun Sinirlioglu also briefed Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu.

Radar data that is claimed to show the flight path of the doomed SU24 in Nrthwest Syria it is calculated that if this path is correct the flight would have been in Turkish airspace for a total of ten seconds. (Radar image source).

Former British diplomat Craig Murray offered this early assessment of Turkey’s actions.

I calculate that each “incursion” over Turkish territory would have lasted about 10 seconds, assuming the plane was flying slowly at 600mph. That Turkey shot down the plane for this is madness, and absolutely indefensible. It is fairly obvious from the track that the plane was operating against Turkish sponsored Turkmen rebels inside Syria, and that is why the Turks shot it down. (Source)

As far as Turkeys demands for their sovereignty to be respected go, that is an absolute joke as Turkey respects neither the sovereignty of Iraq nor Syria launching frequent bombing attacks on Kurdish targets in both nations.

The idea that they should perceive an aircraft in their airspace as a threat and target it on hat basis is not credible.

Turkey is so audacious and criminal they have set up a military observation position complete with NATO listening post INSIDE Syria as this Russian television report depicts.

Following the “go along to get along” decision by Russia to blame ISIL for destroying the Metrojet Flight 9268 over the Sinai peninsula Russia announced that it’s fleet of aircraft operating in Syria is set to increase by an extra 37 from the current size of fifty.

Russias actions on this matter and the earlier MH17 disaster should end any illusion of Russia being anything other than a self-interested completely dishonest power that stages minor truth incursions from time to time for tactical effect.

Russia then launched a new series of “demonstration” operations, using long range strategic bombers flown from Southern Russia to target ISIL and firing cruise missiles that were photographed as they flew over Syria towards their target in Raqqa.

RAW: Moment Russian cruise missile flies by targeting ISIS in Syria

The Russian president cleverly subverted the French move to send the aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle to Syria and capitalised to a degree on the tribal mindset imposed by the trauma of the Paris tragedy by making it publicly known that Russian forces were being instructed to co-operate with the French Navy and Air Force.

Long-range bombers to fly anti-ISIS missions from Russia, Putin orders Navy to work with France — RT News

The way the announcement was managed and the timing mean it is now all but impossible for France to openly act against the Russian operation in any way.

France started bombing ISIL in Syria months ago so the statement from the French president Hollande that “We are at war” following the Paris attacks was completely ridiculous.

They had already been at war with ISIL in Syria.

So it seems as though the silly Zio fantasy speech from the first episode of this seasons Homeland may come true.

Homeland — Quinn tells it like it is

The speech is prime cut pure garbage.  Asked about Syria the fictional CIA killer states that the US should either send 200, 000 troops to permanently occupy the Muddle East, accompanied, most laughably by “school teachers and medics” otherwise they should bomb Raqqa and kill everyone who lives there.

The lies are a constant feature of modern life in the West but the volume and intensity are at the highest level that I have witnessed.

So, publicly at least, the West and Russia are going to be one big happy gang of bombers and they will flatten Raqqa and this will probably achieve very little.

The idea that all the people living in Raqqa are committed jihadists hellbent on the destruction of the West and a new Islamic conquest is just another infantile Zionist fantasy.

The people who live there are just people from a Sunni Arab background the same as the people left in Mosul.

It is telling that Mosul is barely mentioned when the discussion of the ISIL capital arises.

This is because Mosul is not in Syria, and Iraq having already been destroyed is no longer a priority target so the fact that Mosul is a city at least four times the size of Raqqa and ISIL are more powerful in Iraq than Syria is on the lengthy “mot for mention” list.

ISIL will presumably be defeated in the coming months but ISIL are simply the favoured “demon brand” of the moment.

The only real difference between ISIL and the al Nusra front is tactical, the al Nusra Front also believe in building a Caliphate (not that ISIL are really building a Caliphate but this is the crap they tell the fools who believe in their movement) the only difference is that al Nusra believe that the caliphate cannot be built until the jihadists win the war in Syria.

So these people are still going to be in Syria and Iraq, heavily armed and in numbers even if every ISIL member were to be killed.

Equally, the sponsors of the War on Terror will simply find another group of salafists to be their new “demon brand” just as ISIL replaced al Qaeda.
