The Iran Story.

A Brief Overview of Modern Iran on the Eve of Probable Nuclear Framework Deal.
In recent days I have noticed a number of strangely ignorant works, from video makers I had hitherto liked and respected. on the subject of Iran.. It seems that the understanding of recent Iranian history and the nature of the Iranian Government is very low, especially in the United States.
Rather than chastise and rebuke the in my opinion, sadly ignorant I thought it might be better to outline my understanding of recent Iranian history in the hope of addressing in some small part, this unnecessary and unfortunate condition.

Hostages-1953 and 1979.
Because of the foolish and illegal hostage taking operation conducted by Iranian students at the US Embassy in Tehran in 1979, the real truth about the hostage taking in Iran has been obscured.
1953 The CIA MI6 Coup-A Nation Taken Hostage for Big Oil.
The facts of the coup are largely undisputed, at least broadly, the CIA have publicly admitted to their role in the engineered departure from power of the elected Iranian President Mohammed Mossadegh in 1953..
Mossadegh was removed in order to preserve the financial interests of major Western oil corporations who perceived Mossadegh as a threat to the profitability of their Iran operations. Because the incident took place during the Cold War the US justified it’s actions by trying to claim Mossadegh was a “communist” a blatant and obvious untruth.
The coup was executed very cleverly with multiple strands of bribery of Iranian officials combined with staged street violence.
The violence was completely real but the rioters etc. were paid to make trouble by the CIA who were represented in Tehran at the time by a gentleman named Kermit Roosevelt Jr.  who appears to have been rather clever, a quality operative. The coup had actually been in the hands of the British MI6 originally, but the CIA stepped in after the MI6 plotters were arrested during the planning phase.
The CIA returned the Iranian monarch, the Shah to power in the wake of the coup and the Dictator King stayed in power with the use of brutal and inhumane persecution of his enemies, assisted andoverseen by the CIA.

Revolution.

The group who finally emerged to overthrow the Shah in 1979 were the bearers of political Islam.
The removal of Mossadegh and the subsequent violent and oppressive excesses of the Shah’s security forces tore the centre from Iranian political life. The low and thuggish tactics radicalised and energised the opposition and the Conservative cleric Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini was installed as the “Supreme Leader” in the wake of the Islamic revolution he led to triumph upon his return from exile in February 1979.
The US Embassy Incident.
The hostage taking of the Americans was an act of supreme foolishness, it was not ordered by the leadership of Iran but such was the popularity of the move that they chose not to do the right thing and free the hostages but instead held them for more than a year. It is worth noting that elements of the future Reagan administration sought to ensure the hostages were not released before the election so their candidate would benefit from the ongoing embarrassment to the then President Jimmy Carter. The US hostages were finally released within minutes of Reagan being sworn in as US President. Regardless of the complicity of Reagan administration officials who connived to keep the hostages imprisoned until after the election, The hostage taking was wrong. Diplomatic sites must always be protected, that is the Law, they are all “nests of spies” so that is no excuse for what happened.
The Iranian students transgression must however be seen in it’s proper context, being that the United States in the guise of the CIA and using the Shah as cut-out, had taken the ENTIRE IRANIAN NATION hostage for a quarter of a century between 1953 and the Iranian revolution of 1979, The US had a couple of dozen people (52) taken hostage for more than a year a regrettable incident and the people who had to go through that have my sympathy but the suffering and scale simply do not compare.
The way that the US and other Western media tell the hostage taking story, without managing to mention the context that the Iranian nation was taken hostage for a quarter of a century on the orders of Oil oligarchs leads to terrible ignorance and tremendous distortions.

Therefore when the citizens of the West are exposed to the cruder parts of the Iranian anti-Western and anti- US rhetoric they completely misunderstand what they are seeing.
The Iranians, pro Government Iranian people will often chant “Death to America.” Many Americans respond to this provocative rhetoric with the fundamental misunderstanding that the people of Iran dislike or threaten them. They do not.
The “Death to America” rhetoric does not say nor imply “death to Americans” they are talking about death to the US empire or more specifically to the power of the US in the middle east and central Asia. The reasons for this are fairly obvious. Israel and the US wars of aggression.
The Iranian leadership still, like every Government, point to the failings of the previous Government long after taking power. The anti American rhetoric is a way the Government of Iran assets it’s legitimacy and contrasts itself with the rule of the Shah, a western puppet.
The reason the anti- American rhetoric is still popular rests solely on the violent actions of the US and Israel (with US support) and are grounded in the understandable resentment this violence generates. None of it has anything whatsoever to do with attacking the United States nor the people of the United States although it could be argued that the use of the somewhat inflated rhetoric is counter-productive enabling Iran’s Zionist enemies to incorrectly paint the nation as a threat to the West.
Iran as a Regional Power.
Over the past several decades, the Government of Iran has repeatedly capitalised on the violent actions of the US, Israel and others in order to build a broad base of power in the Middle East.
Iran supported Hezbollah in Lebanon, retained an alliance with the Assad Government of Syria under both Hafeez and Bashar al Assad, and when the US invaded and occupied Iraq, pro-Iran political parties became the most powerful in the “new” Iraq and Iran also supported a number of Shia militia groups in Iraq and the Houthis in Yemen.
In each case, certainly in Lebanon, and Iraq the Government of Iran did not provoke or seek war but rather capitalised on the violent blunders of the US and Israel. Because the groups the Iranian government supported were very effective in Lebanon and very numerous in Democratic Iraq, pro Iran groups achieved greater power in these nations.
This ascension to power was not based on any special Iranian machinations or a sectarian agenda, the support paid off because the Government of Iran supported the same groups that the people on the ground supported in defensive wars in response to aggression inflicted upon them by external enemies.
Yemen.
The situation in Yemen is somewhat more complex and difficult. Yemen is something of a failed state and has been in state of low or high intensity civil war throughout it’s history.
Saudi Arabia, in it’s delusion perceives itself as a regional leader and a leader of Muslims. The Government of Saudi Arabia has tried to achieve power in the Middle East by mimicking the Iran tactic of funding friendly militias in regional wars. The tactics of the House of Saud have failed miserably due to the fact that the militants they support do not enjoy popular support, due to their sectarian outlook, ultra-violent tactics and extremist intolerance.

Saudis Attack Yemen.
So facing defeat in a broad swathe of regional wars with Syria the centrepiece, Saudi Arabia chose to attack Yemen in the past week, where the Shia Houthi group apparently supported by Iran had recently taken armed control of the capital Sa’na whilst attacking Sunni extremist fighters of the al Qaeda Yemen branch in southern Yemen.
America’s traditional allies in the region, Israel and Saudi Arabia are intensely threatened by a potential Iran nuclear deal and are determined to stop it at any cost. The Yemen attack appears to be a desperate Saudi move that will backfire severely. It also appears that the Houthi fighters may have overreached somewhat in their political and military ambitions. There is a high level of mistrust in Yemen, along NorthSouth and possibly also Sunni-Shia lines. (the nation was previously divided into two states North and South Yemen from the 1960s until 1990) The Houthis represent the North and also Shia Islam and thus could not realistically hope to form the core of a National Government.
The Saudi air attacks on Houthi positions in Yemen have taken a tremendous toll on a civilian populace that lacks resources at the best of times. Hundreds are civilians are dead at the hands of the Saudi Fighter jets including dozens when an internal refugee camp was recently bombed.
The Air Offensive was preceded a week earlier by a devastating series of supposed “suicide attacks” claimed by “IS”, it may have been drones that conducted the attacks that killed more than a hundred in 3 Shia mosques.
The Nuclear Deal.
If the Government of Iran and the P5+1 reach a Nuclear deal, this will have no impact on the day to day lives of the American people. There will be no cost to the US taxpayer. If anything, a deal will save the United States from having to potentially fight another unwinnable Trillion dollar war in the Middle East that achieves nothing and does not come in response to any real threat. The Iranian Government and the Iranian State do not pose any threat whatsoever to the people of the United States and never have done.
Under the US Constitution the President has the sole responsibility for the foreign policy. The Iran deal is not another NAFTA, a deal that is imposed on the people of the US without their input that has the ability to have a huge negative impact on their lives and sovereignty,
The opposition of the Congress and Senate to an Iran deal speaks only to the sad fact that these politicians views were co-opted long ago by the Israel lobby.
The very notion that the pro-Israel anti- Iran deal US Senators and House Members are actually representing the interests of the people of the United States is both quaint and frankly, laughable. If you look at the pattern of behaviour from the politicians of the US Congress and Senate, it will be clear that they are cheering for every war no matter how disastrous. These same politicians accede to every last globalist demand when it comes to transnational agreements.

You haven't made it big as a leader of Jihad until you meet with the American Emir-Senator John McCain greets Belhaj following the ouster of Gaddafi.

In order to hide their true nature, these politicians cycle through a constant stream of fake threats and phony stories but nothing can hide the fact that these infantile Western Supremacists and their Zionist controlled media supporters are in fealty to the Israel lobby and this dominates their every pronouncement on any Middle East issue. They have zero credibility, the incoming head of the House Senate Intelligence Committee has taken warm photos in recent years with two separate IS leaders! Senator John McCain had a meeting with the “Caliph” Abu Bakr al Baghdadi in Syria and is also depicted warmly with the man who now leads the IS in Libya Abdel Hakim Belhaj, both photos are from within the past three years. This is not some unhappy distant event, these are the allies of the Head of the Senate Intelligence Committee!
The same terror groups that are also supported by his Israeli masters. Individuals such as Senator McCain and their antics defy credulity. The idea that they have any credibility in any discussion on any Foreign policy matter is simply ludicrous and insulting.
McCain’s position and role in the political power structure of the US is simply another sad sign that the US Empire is in it’s end times phase, the crash is going to be painful and Iran has absolutely nothing to do with it. The Government of Iran does not and have never posed the slightest threat to the people of the United States or any Westerner inside the West.

  2. Very thorough. The information you have provided certainly offers insight into the wariness that Iran and the Supreme Leader have shown when engaging in negotiations with the West.
